Program Description:

As credit markets and national economies recover from the financial and economic crisis, the world's governments and central bankers continue to make decisions about how best to target inflation, reduce unemployment, balance risk, and spur economic growth. As the world's largest economic region, the European Union has had a complex challenge in addressing these issues, particularly across the sixteen countries of the euro area which have a wide range of economic circumstances. Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, has led the ECB's monetary policy response to the crisis. Join The Chicago Council on Global Affairs for a special event with Mr. Trichet as he shares what lessons have been learned from the financial and economic crisis, and what these lessons teach us for the global economic future.
