He was a former CIO in charge of manager due diligence and asset allocation for a multi-billion dollar advisory. His background includes extensive asset allocation research and portfolio development expertise along with a multi-faceted understanding of behavioral finance and retirement issues. Aside from his consulting and strategist work, Falk is part of the CFA Institute’s Approved Speaker List, a contributing member of the PDDARI group within the Financial Management Association (FMA), the Vice Chair of the Plan Sponsor Council of America’s Investment Committee, and teaches as an adjunct professor at DePaul University in their Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Certificate Program as well as on behalf of the CFA Society of Chicago and is frequently quoted in the financial press. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S in Finance. He also holds the Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) designation. Michele Gambera, CFA, is Executive Director and Head of Quantitative Analysis for UBS Global Investment Solutions. In this role, he leads the team developing and maintaining quantitative models for the portfolio management teams in the Asset Allocation & Currency areas of Global Investment Solutions. Gambera joined UBS Global Asset Management in 2010 from Ibbotson Associates, Morningstar's asset allocation consultancy, where he had been Senior Research Consultant and Chief Economist since 2006. During his nine years with Morningstar, he was also a Senior Quantitative Analyst and Chief Economist. Prior to joining Morningstar, he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for two years as an Economist in the Supervision and Regulation division. In addition to his extensive economic and quantitative analysis experience, Gambera has a strong academic background and has held various teaching roles, most recently on the Masters of Finance program at Illinois Institute of Technology. He is often quoted by the press including the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. Gambera holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Trento in Italy, a Masters degree and a Ph.D. in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and he is also a CFA Charterholder. Ann Logue, CFA, is a freelance writer, consulting analyst, and instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is the author of Hedge Funds for Dummies (Wiley, 2006), and has also written for Barron's, The New York Times, Newsweek Japan and Compliance Week, among other publications. Her current career follows 12 years' of experience as an investment analyst. Logue holds a B.A. from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and is a CFA Charterholder. Phillip A. Torres was a Senior Portfolio Manager for UBS Asset Management, where he ran the firm’s multi-asset absolute return products. Prior to UBS he was a Senior Portfolio Manager with JBS where he managed the firm’s proprietary capital in a global macro strategy. Previous to JBS, he was a Portfolio Manager with Vara Capital Management, a Chicago based global macro hedge fund. Torres held responsibility for Vara's emerging market positions across various interest rate, credit, equity, and commodity related products. Prior to Vara Capital, from July 2001 through April 2005, Torres served as the Emerging Market Portfolio Manager for Ritchie Capital Management's global macro group. Additionally, Torres held responsibility for both Vara and Ritchie’s inflation-linked exposures globally. Before joining RCM, Torres was a consultant for IMCC to the USAID and World Bank, serving on projects involving financial sector and monetary reform in a variety of emerging economies across Latin America, Africa, CIS, and Asia. Concurrently, Torres was an Associate Director for Dimension Capital Management where he constructed and managed portfolios and fund of funds specializing in alternative asset classes and emerging markets. Torres received an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA in political science from Tufts University. Vincent, CFA, is a Principal at William Blair & Company, where he heads the Fixed Income Group within the Investment Management division. He joined the firm in June 2002 as a fixed-income portfolio manager. Vincent began his institutional investment career in 1983, and was previously a managing director/senior fixed-income portfolio manager with Zurich Scudder Investments for 14 years. Before that, he was with Ralston Purina Company for five years in the treasury department in the plan sponsor role, where he was responsible for fixed-income investments for the company's benefit plans. Vincent is a Board member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
