Investing in the Community
CFA Chicago is proud to announce the creation of a new initiative: "Investing in the Community." The goal of this program is to inform our members about Board and other volunteer opportunities that require the unique skill sets of investment professionals. While CFA Chicago is pleased to offer this service for members, we do not specifically endorse any of the organizations or their affiliates.
Arts and Business Council (Updated May 2012)
In cooperation with the Arts and Business Council of Chicago, CFA Chicago invites members to participate in the Business Volunteers for the Arts and/or the On Board program. These programs recruit, train and place business executives on Boards and pro bono management consulting projects for non-profit arts groups. For more information, please visit:
Executive Service Corps (Updated May 2012)
The Executive Service Corps of Chicago enhances people's lives by helping to improve the management and governance of nonprofits, schools, and governments through the efforts of highly trained volunteers. Volunteers are senior and middle managers and leaders from business, the professions, government, nonprofits and schools. To learn more, please visit: www.esc-chicago.org/volunteer/.
Goldie's Place Executive and Associate Board (Updated May 2012)
Goldie's Place is a support center for people who are homeless located at 5705 N. Lincoln in Chicago. Goldie's Place services build self sufficiency and eliminate the underlying causes of homelessness by providing dedicated individuals with the tools and foundations to gain employment. Some of the employment services Goldie's provides include employment workshops, a professional clothes closet, and dental services (nothing kills an interview like a missing tooth!). As Goldie's expands, the organization would like to add diversity to its current leadership and is specifically looking for individuals with financial skills to join both its Executive and Associate Boards. Individuals who are interested in learning more about the organization and the opportunity can email Erin Kim at firstname.lastname@example.org. See the PDF brochure or the Web site for more information. www.goldiesplace.org
We invite organizations that are interested in recruiting investment professionals as volunteers to contact Angela McKay at 312-251-1302 for information on listing the opportunities on this section of the CFA Chicago website.
