CFA Chicago is proud to announce the creation of a new initiative: "Investing in the Community." The goal of this program is to inform our members about Board and other volunteer opportunities that require the unique skill sets of investment professionals.
While CFA Chicago is pleased to offer this service for members, we do not specifically endorse any of the organizations or their affiliates.
CFA Society of Chicago has partnered with the Illinois CPA Society and their community service arm, CPAs for the Public Interest, to provide you with access to CPA Board Connection. CPA Board Connection links financial professionals with non-profit Boards and community service projects that require financial expertise. CFA Chicago members are welcome and encouraged to participate.

In cooperation with the Arts and Business Council of Chicago, CFA Chicago invites members to participate in the Business Volunteers for the Arts and/or the On Board program. These programs recruit, train and place business executives on Boards and pro bono management consulting projects for non-profit arts groups. The 2008 class for the On BOARD program begins in March. Board participation demonstrates civic leadership on behalf of both the individual and their employer. Because companies support their employees professional development and community involvement, most businesses cover the $1,500 participation fee. On BOARD includes five classes and apprenticeships to prepare candidates to be effective board members who are able to have an immediate impact when they join a board.
If you know of someone would benefit from On BOARD, please contact the A&BC today. Space is limited. Call Lindsey Marks at (312) 372-1876, ext. 229, to begin the registration process.
The Executive Service Corps of Chicago enhances people's lives by helping to improve the management and governance of nonprofits, schools, and governments through the efforts of highly trained volunteers. Volunteers are senior and middle managers and leaders from business, the professions, government, nonprofits and schools. We invite organizations that are interested in recruiting investment professionals as volunteers to contact Jill Epstein at 312-251-1302 for information on listing the opportunities on this section of the CFA Chicago website.
