Program Description:
As the asset management continues to consolidate, charterholders will inevitably transition towards new roles.  Hear insights from a senior member of a leading outplacement firm, as well as four charterholders who have recently transitioned to new jobs.  All panelists will be available for an extended Q&A with the audience.

Speaker Bios:

Daryl Brown, CFA, is a director of market strategy at TransUnion. Brown has over 10 years of experience in financial services, including internal strategy, management consulting, and sell-side equity research in the US and Latin America.

Previously to joining TransUnion, Brown was a manager at Deloitte Consulting in the Strategy & Analytics practice. He advised clients across the Financial Services industry in corporate strategy and major operational transformations. Before Deloitte, he worked in competitive intelligence at Itau-Unibanco in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Brown is a CFA charterholder, holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a Masters in economics from the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil), and a Bachelors of Business Administration from Texas Tech University.


Tim Byhre, CFA, has 20 years of financial experience, including ten years of business valuation experience in multiple industries and asset classes. Byhre advises companies on the valuation of interests in closely held entities for income tax planning and compliance, estate and gift tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation.  He has significant experience valuing hedge fund, private equity, and venture capital positions, including debt, equity, preferred stock, options, and warrants. He has experience in a broad range of industries, including reporting across a broad range of industries, including financial services, industrial, retail, consumer products, and professional services. In addition, he has provided valuation for financial reporting purposes (ASC 350-20, 718, 805 and 820).

Before joining RSM, Byhre spent ten years at Duff & Phelps, where he ran numerous engagements centered on the valuation of equity for closely held interests. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Boston University and his Master of Business Administration in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.


Nancy Fehrenbach, CFA, is a financial planning analyst with Phase 3 Advisory Services, Ltd.  She provides financial plan modelling as well as ongoing analysis of clients’ portfolios for changes to investment, insurance and retirement needs.

Fehrenbach began her career as a fixed income investment analyst and portfolio manager for Mutual of New York.  She also worked for Merrill Lynch in their Business Brokerage and Valuation group, and for Fuji Bank as an industry analyst.  Fehrenbach focused many years on the management of non-profit entities, including a term as the Winnetka Public Schools Board President, before returning to the financial industry.

Fehrenbach received her B.S. degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in finance and entrepreneur management.Fehrenbach holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation, is a member of CFA Institute and a member of CFA Society Chicago. She is a candidate for the Certified Financial Planner designation.


Phil Jandora, CFA, is a senior transitions analyst in the Investments group at Willis Towers Watson.  He helps delegated clients (DB & DC) manage portfolio transaction costs, out of market exposure, and liquidity.  Jandora also played a key role in launching the US fund operations at the company.

Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, Jandora spent twelve years in the proprietary futures trading business with roles as a trader, manager, mentor, and company owner. Early in his career he built on his technical skill set as a software consultant utilizing his educational background in Management Information Systems. 



Eric Schweitzer is vice president of global outplacement and executive coaching consultancy at Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. He serves businesses on issues of organizational change while guiding their employees through career transitions, leadership development, and executive coaching.  Previously, Schweitzer worked in asset management in roles such as global head of product, global chief marketing officer, and managing director of sales for firms including Invesco and Northern Trust. He has led corporate initiatives in business transformation, team development and realignment, and business and product-line launches.

If guests fail to cancel before the deadline and/or fail to attend the event they will be charged a $20 fee.

Members of any CFA society may attend at the CFA Society Chicago member rate. If you are only a member of CFA Institute, you do not qualify for the Society member rate.
