Managing competition and risk: How does Allstate address market mayhem?
This isn’t your father’s insurance industry. Allstate is coping with new and aggressive competitors, increasingly price-sensitive and Internet-focused consumers, financial risks including the global banking crises affecting its $100 billion investment portfolio, and regulatory pressures ranging from new Dodd-Frank rules to activist state regulators.
