Program Description:
It's no secret that having the right people in the right seats on the bus is one of the greatest keys to the long-term success of an investment firm. After all, this is a talent business. But the bigger question -- and one that most investment leaders struggle with -- is how to identify exactly who is "right" for the team? And similarly, investment professionals must ask themselves the same question: Am I in the right seat on the right bus? The answer lies in understanding the three different kinds of fit for a position -- cultural (one's personal values and how they align with the team's), eligibility (one's "ability" to do the work) and suitability (one's natural desire to do the work).

In this session, Jamie Ziegler, author of High Performing Investment Teams (Wiley, 2006) shares insights into how measure all three kinds of fit, with particular emphasis on the most difficult to assess -- suitability. Investment professionals have found this session to be critical in helping them identify their own genius and cultural fit, while leaders have found this session to be critical in helping them make the right hiring decisions for their teams.
