Social Media for Financial Professionals - WHY You Should (or Shouldn't) Use LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter
Date, Time, and Location:
Thursday, October 3, 2013
4:00 - 6:00 pm
Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 230 S. LaSalle Street, Chicago, 60604
Career Strategist Kathy Graham will discuss best practices for using social media within the financial services industry, with a realistic approach that acknowledges compliance issues. The discussion will focus on using LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter for building your personal brand and driving career goals.
Graham's approach is the one that Yale Professor Emeritus Edward Tufte recommends for this new interactive digital age. Gone is the PowerPoint show; gone is the canned presentation. In its place is an hour and half dialogue with Graham discussing only the questions you want the answers to regarding WHY You Should (or Shouldn't) Use LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter as an investment management/financial services professional. Graham will have a live online computer displayed on big screen, with which she will illustrate her answers to your questions with real world examples.
You Will Learn:
- How to establish and maintain a professional personal brand, which will differ depending upon your employment status, industry niche, and seniority level
- How different social media channels can work together
- How your online presence influences current and future employers, customers, colleagues, clients, etc
- 3 Keys for perfecting your LinkedIn profile.
