CFA Society Chicago Partnership with the Greenwood Project
The Greenwood Project is a Chicago-based non-profit whose mission is to introduce minority students to careers in the finance industry. They support scholars from high school into their early career, serving as an educational resource and opportunity generator. The Greenwood Project’s programs include summer courses for high school students that focus on finance topics, specifically financial technology. Their flagship program is a 6-week college internship program where students are matched with prestigious internship opportunities and provided with support to help them achieve at the highest levels in their roles.
- • With the continued impact of COVID-19 lingering in our industry, their most pressing need is for companies to take on virtual volunteers for our summer 2020 internships. This year, they are two-week long virtual internships where a team of 5 scholars tackles a project submitted by an employee or team.
• Volunteer to lead Virtual Career Talks, where volunteers discuss their career pathway and answer questions from our students.
• Volunteer to lead workshops for our high school institutes coming up in July and August. These workshops range from soft-skills (like Verbal and Written Communication) to industry-specific sills (like Company Valuation).
